Registered Dental Assistant - RDA

Overview: Smile Works Dentistry and Orthodontics is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Dental Assistant to join our team in La Mirada, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
Greeting patients warmly and escorting them to treatment rooms.
Preparing treatment rooms, instruments, and tray setups for dental procedures.
Assisting the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
Exposing and mounting dental diagnostic X-rays.
Making preliminary impressions and fabricating temporary crowns and custom impression trays.
Pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts, as well as cleaning and polishing removable appliances.
Educating patients on oral care and providing postoperative instructions as prescribed by the dentist.
Maintaining patient records and ensuring strict adherence to OSHA and Dental Board policies.
Working proactively to maintain high patient satisfaction and supporting general office procedures as needed.

Expected hours are 24.0 per week for this part-time position.

• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Experience: At least 6 months of experience as a dental assistant is required.
Certifications: Must hold a current Coronal Polishing Certificate and proof of completing a radiation safety course.
Technical Skills & Knowledge: Must have knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance, working knowledge of dental equipment, and the ability to make temporary crowns.
Professional Traits: Quick learner with an enthusiastic and positive attitude, excellent organizational skills, advanced verbal communication skills, and a professional demeanor.

Bilingual capabilities with fluency in spoken Spanish are preferred.
