Base pay range $50,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a French and Spanish Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year at an independent school in New York, NY. French and Spanish Teacher Responsibilities: Teach several sections, with a combination of French and Spanish, to students in grades 6–12. Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students. Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class. Scheduling and preparing students for oral and written examinations. Monitoring student's progress by writing up reports and grading assessments. Organizing feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable. Offer learning recommendations and schedule intervention sessions for students requiring additional support. Teaching students about Spanish and French culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions. Serve as an advisor for middle or high school students. French and Spanish Teacher Requirements: An undergraduate degree in Spanish, French or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 2-3 years of previous teaching experience. No teaching license or credential is required. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities. Additional Desired Qualities: Willingness to work with middle school students. Passion for foreign language education. Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities. Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
